Two weekends back, a buddy Ed took his 10 year old boy Brandon Bass fishing for the day. It was the first time for Brandon to use one of Dad's Baitcasters and Crankbaits. Ed said he had been practicing for two weeks after school with it and a practice plug, and had pretty much learned how to cast and avoid the dreaded BIRDNESTS.

After fishing most of the day, Brandon's score was 14, Dad 10 and they were both very tired. Here's a few pics of Brandon and his Bass.

My very first Bass!! Check out that expression!!

And another nice one...Good job little buddy!!

And yet another one, the biggest of the day..."Whew, I'm getting tired & hungry Dad...can we go home now" "Afterall, I did beat you"!!

That is Taylorsville Lake in Spencer County KY, just East of Louisville KY Silver. This time of year it is very popular with pleasure boaters, but supports good quality and numbers of fish, if you get up in the feeder creeks off the main lake. This is where Ed and Brandon caught all their Bass.
