Well folks it's time to heat up the shotgun barrels and see just how foolish them little torpedoe shaped birds can make you feel.

I love dove season I have loved it since the first time my dad took me when I was 5,for me it signals the beginning of the fall hunting seasons. So for all you folks that are going enjoy yourself, stay safe and remember shoot where he's gonna be,not where he is. Rocker

Well the Dove hunting didn't work out as it should have. Doves weren't flying where we picked, so I took off after 6 shots and 1 dead dove and headed to go dig my blind in! Okay so I hauled Ass!!!!!! With 5 of us shootin we killed 10 geese, out of 2 flocks that came in.

I was darn proud of myself though, the first flock came in and I took 2 shots and dropped 2 geese. For a total of 6 geese on the ground, of which 1 flew off so were down to 5. The fifth one didn't wanna die, so I took off after it and finally 150 yards later and 2 more shots, it was down too... Long, panting walk back to the setup. Only had to lay flat on the ground once trying to hide as 1 more flock almost landed in the decoys.

Good times!!!!

Well I made it out a few days over the labor day weekend. Saturday morning we went out and birds were flying but none in my range, but luckily a buddy of mine was reaping the benefits. On the second day however it was a different story. It would be very calm for long periods of time and then all of a sudden you would have in between 1-3 birds coming at the same time from different directions. Monday morning did not start well. I woke up to the sound of thunder but no rain so I headed on out. This morning was very very slow. I think there were a total of 4 birds come over all morning of the 2 that came by me 1 got smacked at about 50+ yards flying away from me. This was mainly due to some frustration. All in all it was a good weekend. It's nice get out with ol' friends and the dog and watching the sunrise. Next weekend should be better I hope. Here in northern Oklahoma we still just have the local birds, doesn't seem like any are migrating thru quite yet.
